Orient new ground.

Having seen a topic on Brentfords new ground, i thought i would make one on us.

Not to shabby eh?

The move isn't offical yet but talks are well underway. The capacity will be downsized to 25,000 from 80,000. I am in two minds about this. Yes i would love the move because as you can see the stadium looks fantastic, but on the other hand i would hate to say goodbye to Brisbane Road cause it is (well was) such a classic ground. Other minuses are the fact we would have to leave Leyton for Stratford, but i dont think we will have to change our name and it is only a mile from Leyton. But the thing i will dislike most is that there will be a running track round the pitch. Now i would hate this cause us (the fans) would be too far away from the pitch and i like to be quite close.

Thought/Views/Discussions?

I'd also like to use this thread as a hello and introduction to the board.

Welcome JAMES

I like the more romantic old fashioned grounds James ," Brisbane Rd is a cracking ground with stacks of history , and when a club leaves it's roots does it really make that much progress ?
Arsnal did it so they could compete financialy with Man Utd Liverpool ect , but Leyton Orient are a League 1 team at best ," IF and it's a massive if they got to the Championship and held their own for 3 or 4 seasons then and only then it would make sence to move , or JAZZ up the true home of LEYTON ORIENT FOOTBALL CLUB

There has been lots of work done on Brisbane Road and it is nothing like it was. But a move to the Olympic stadium would ensure safety and security of Leyton Orient Football Club for many, many years to come

I'd imagne it's pretty safe at Brisbane Rd , biggest problem in the London area is attracting new fans from the prem sides , why would any new child want to support the Orient instead of a prem side , it's not fashionable , Clubs like Orient " NEED " to somehow attract a new fan base if they ever want to progress .
James-Orient

Orient have a huge number of commuinity schemes and ticket schemes to try attract new fans. But with West Ham, Arsenal and Tottenham no more than 10-20 mins away your point is a very sad realility. But if people actually botherd to come they would soon fall in love with us and lower league football really. There is just so much more passion and it is so much more English than the premier league. Lower league football really is where the proper football is at.

I don't understand why owners of FC want massive stadiums for? Is it just me or am I not normal.
